We had all the knob and tube removed and replaced.... we thought we were A-Ok
But its always the last place you look ..under updated light switch plates ..we never thought we
would Find a cut out from a cereal box to be a makeshift outlet cover ... a double wall switch reduced to One. And bonus it has not one but two layers of Wallpaper and possibly 4 coats of latex paint sandwiched between. We have found - Mustard Yellow, Minty Green Blue, Old sad ugly pale mauve and ...hunter green... no order in any ... just my memory of shock.

Good Things
Wiring is Sound - after the electrician :)
Plumbing is yet to be defined but works :)
Furnace is brand new :) !!!
Wood Floors through out ... buried treasure yet
Bad things
Every room is wallpapered over paint, over wallpaper, over paint over wallpaper, over plaster....
Carpet is laid over carpet, over carpet, over ??? with wood flooring yet undiscovered
Basement floor is undefined cement ..pebble rock..hardened dirt ...with pebbles ..?? Positive You Can stand Up ..Not a Michigan Basement
Finished part of basement ... floor tiles covered with Yellow Orange Red Black Swirled Carpet ...detached from tiles ..underneath a powder keg of black uggh.
Quick Fixes via previous owner
Paneling ~ Scotch Tape ~ Duct Tape and the dreaded corrugated cardboard as makeshift walls ... um not to mention over 15 extension cords...for light fixtures and connections to electricity ...nails...thumbtacks ... bobbles and beads .. :O
